Resumo
The features of complex formation of the styryl dye 4-{(E)-2-[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]vinyl}-1-methylpyridinium iodide (DASPI) in an aqueous solution of cucurbit[7]uril (CB7) were studied using steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy. It was found that the formation of 12 : 12 inclusion complexes causes significant changes in the absorption spectra and stimulates emission from a higher excited electronic state in the 400 nm band. The binding constants of the inclusion complexes DASPI and CB7 of composition 12 : 11 logK1 = 5.5 and composition 12 : 12 logK2 = 5.1 were determined in this band using fluorescence titration. These changes can be attributed to the influence of the electrostatic field of the CB7 portals on the conjugated system of double bonds of DASPI.
